Ancient Civilizations: A Day in the Life

Assume the role of a commoner from an ancient civilization
(Greece, Roman Empire, Egypt, or Mesopotamia). Create a multimedia journal entry from that person’s point of view. The journal entry should focus on a main event in that civilization’s history. Multimedia journals should include factual information as well as the opinions of the selected figure. You will use various online resources for finding information and collecting media. The final product will be constructed in Windows Movie Maker. You are not required to use recorded narration, but encouraged.

A Personal Bill of Rights

Select an amendment from the Bill of Rights that is particularly meaningful to you. Create a multimedia presentation that makes connections between the amendment and your life. Presentations should include a voice recording of the amendment and optional text captions. You will use various online resources for finding information and collecting media. The final product will be constructed in Windows Movie Maker.

7th Grade - In Process Grade Criteria (evaluation is week of 1/24)

5 items completed = A
4 items completed = B
3-1 items completed = C
  1. Research and read about your civilization and the main event you are focusing on.
  2. Found at least 4 good resources to find information and media
  3. Completed the story board (at least 5 rows - a completed story)
  4. Collected at least 5 still images and saved them into your still images folder
  5. Copy and pasted all web addresses for resources you are using into the research notes page

8th Grade - In Process Grade Criteria (evaluation is week of 1/24)

6 items completed = A
5 or 4 items completed = B
3-1 items completed = C
  1. Research and read facts, court cases, and news stories for your amendment
  2. Found at least 4 good resources to find information and media
  3. Completed both pages of the project template
  4. Collected at least 5 still images and saved them into your still images folder
  5. Recorded amendment narration and downloaded fine into project folder
  6. Copy and pasted all web addresses for resources you are using into the research notes page
